Our Story, Vision & Values

Why Honey for Moms Exists

Motherhood changes everything—and no one is meant to do it alone.

Honey for Moms began in 2014 with a simple but radical idea: mothers deserve real support. What started as a small therapy and support group practice quickly grew into a hub where moms could access mental health care, community, and connection that actually saw the whole picture.

As the need for this kind of support deepened, so did our mission. Over time, Honey evolved into a place where care meets community—where mothers, professionals, and healing providers come together in one intentional space.

Today, Honey for Moms is a thriving ecosystem dedicated to maternal mental health, wellness, co-working, and community-building. We’re proud to be a sanctuary for moms navigating big transitions, real emotions, career pivots, and the everyday intensity of parenting.

Located in Ferndale, Michigan. Virtual support available across Michigan.

What we believe

We believe healing happens in relationships. Connection, compassion, and care that truly fit your life are at the heart of everything we do at Honey. Isolation fuels emotional distress, so we build spaces where you don’t have to mother alone.

We believe maternal mental health is community health. To care for mothers is to care for everyone. Honey exists to hold and support all who mother, without exception.

We specialize in a demographic, not a diagnosis. We’re here for people who mother—each with their own story, needs, and truth. Every human deserves to be seen and heard.

We believe moms need to be seen as full people—not just caregivers, not just patients, and not just employees. Respect means taking the time to truly see each person and how they arrived at this moment.

We believe motherhood is a whole-body experience. We trust the wisdom of the body, the reality of pain and sensation, and the messages that come from within.

We believe in nervous system-informed care, real human connection, and trauma-aware spaces. We hold space for people to find their voice and name their truth without reducing them to a chart or label.

We believe the maternal instinct is one of the most powerful voices in existence. When we listen to it, everything changes. At Honey, we center that voice, not override it.

We believe there is no single right way to mother. Change is constant. Cycles and seasons shape us. Embracing change with wisdom and courage is the heart of Honey.

What’s next for Honey

We’re expanding intentionally—rooted in our mission: to offer real, relational, trauma-informed care for mothers.

As Honey. for Moms continues to deepen its presence in Michigan as a flagship hub for maternal care, we’re also preparing to launch Honey Mental Health—a sister brand offering virtual therapy, groups, and integrative care across state lines.

Honey Mental Health will support:

  • Adults in all seasons of life (before, during, and beyond parenthood)

  • Those navigating trauma, identity shifts, relational dynamics, or nervous system dysregulation

  • Clients outside of Michigan seeking a Honey-trained therapist or psychiatrist

This expansion allows us to meet the rising need for thoughtful, whole-person care—while keeping Honey for Moms grounded as a place for mothers to gather, grow, and feel deeply supported.
