Carli Richmond, MA, LMSW

CLINICAL THERAPIST

travel enthusiast. restaurant explorer. self-proclaimed game night MVP.

Carli brings both clinical depth and genuine warmth to her work. She was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, then moved north to attend the University of Michigan where she earned her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. After returning to Florida to complete her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Central Florida, Carli made her way back to Michigan to live and practice.

Carli works with individuals navigating a wide range of life experiences, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, major life transitions, and health-related challenges. She has a particular passion for supporting clients through seasons of change, whether that’s becoming a parent, adjusting to a new identity, or moving through loss or uncertainty.

Her background includes specialized training and experience in perinatal mental health, reproductive loss, and birth trauma, which began during her time as a NICU social work intern and has continued to grow through her clinical work. She is also experienced in supporting clients coping with both acute and chronic health concerns, including physical trauma related to childbirth.

Carli’s approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to each individual. She integrates evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and interpersonal psychotherapy. With her background in kinesiology and additional training in neuroscience, she also incorporates psychoeducation to help clients better understand the connection between mind and body, offering both insight and practical tools for change.

In addition to working with adults navigating change and transition, Carli also supports teens and couples in her work.

Outside of the therapy room, Carli enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, being outdoors (especially hiking and kayaking), and cheering on her favorite sports teams. In quieter moments, you’ll likely find her cooking, reading, or playing volleyball or board games.
